\nA word on PU vs. EPS<\/h4>\nPU as a construction refers to a surfboard built from Polyurethane blanks with Polyester resin, while PE refers to a Polyurethane blank with Epoxy resin.<\/p>\n These have long been the standard for most brands and is the most widely and affordable option out there. Due to the foam\u2019s weight and density, PU boards sit a little lower in the water, helping you in keeping your rail under, which translates to that sweet \u201cknifey\u201d feel when slicing through the wave\u2019s face.<\/p>\n Being a touch heavier also helps them to handle choppy conditions better and are less prone to being bounced around.
