NSP Airwave Rear Wing 245 High Aspect Wing
The newly redesigned NSP Airwave Rear Wing 245 High Aspect (HA) Wing weighs 0.16kg has less drag, needs less pumping, offers a longer ride, and is best suited for downwinding and windsurf foiling. Freeride windsurf foilers should use this wing in combination with the 85 fuselage as it is the most stable size in the fuselage range.
For more interesting foil, check out our foil overview here.
Thanks to the new solid carbon fiber construction, all NSP rear wings are exceptionally rigid, reducing the level of input needed while up on foil.
Trim to size
Designed for more advanced riders, the NSP Airwave Rear Wing 245 High Aspect Wing features trim lines, allowing you to tweak your rear wing to the ideal surface. Scroll down for a cutoff diagram and additional info.
NSP Airwave Rear Wing 245 High Aspect Wing attachment
The attachment point of RW 245 has been redesigned to ensure the best angle of attack when in the water. Test reports found a top-mount solution improved efficiency and thus, we redesigned the NSP fuselage (black), allowing it to carry the rear wing on the top.
The RW 245 HA comes with a premium 600-D nylon sleeve with an anti-corrosive zipper to protect your equipment. To mount it to an NSP Fuselage, the RW 245 HA requires M6 x 25 screws (sold separately).
NOTE: This new RW 245 HA can only be mounted to the black NSP fuselage.
Dimensions of the NSP Airwave Rear Wing 245 High Aspect Wing
Width
The wider your rear wing, the more roll stability your setup will exhibit. Winglets or anhedral/dihedral shapes will aid in directional stability, fighting yaw. But those variations will affect the roll stability less than downright width.
Chord
The more chord your rear wing features (leading edge to trailing edge), the more pitch stability you will have. Interestingly, fewer wingspan and narrower chords will create a more responsive foiling setup. make for a faster reaction in their roll and pitch directions.
| Name | Area | Span | Chord | Aspect ratio | Weight |

Rear wing shim kit
The 3-piece, 1-3 degree Shim Kit has been redesigned and molded from fiber-reinforced nylon, working perfectly with the RW 245 High Aspect Wing.
The different degrees of each shim change the angle of the wings in the water so you can customize your ride for more stability, faster lift maximum speed, or the best for pumping or winging.

- The 1-degree shim gives the least amount of drag, increasing speed but requiring some pumping to get up on foil.
- The 2-degree shim offers a great balance between stability and speed. It is the best choice to start out on.
- The 3-degree shim gives the most lift and is the easiest to get up on foil with, but a little slower, making it useful for beginners or foilers who prefer a quick lift.
Trim lines for the NSP Airwave Rear Wing 245 High Aspect Wing
The new cutoff marks on the tips of the wingtips allow you to reduce the surface area by up to 35cm² down to 225cm² or right up to a surface of just 210cm².
The second trim line on the wing tips effectively takes off the winglets, changing the character of the wing completely. While there is no going back, this takes the RW 245 High-Aspect wing from a HA rear wing to a great stabilizer, ideal for hardcore surfers who prefer a loose feel and the ability to turn quickly.
Where does the NSP Airwave Rear Wing 245 High Aspect Wing fit in the range?
When using the RW 245 HA without cutting the winglets for downwinding and winging, we find pairing this rear wing with the Glider Series front wings works really well. Radical surfers who opt to trim the winglets will find the wing is best suited with the Gull Series front wings.
While the aspect ratio of the RW 245 HA remains high compared to the NSP 330 and 340 rear wings, its directional stability is removed in exchange for a more skate-like ride
